Responsibilities:

The department contains two secondary disciplines: kidney disease and rheumatic immune disease, including 18 beds in the inpatient ward of the Department of Nephrology and 12 beds in the inpatient ward of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology. It also sets up blood purification (including peritoneal dialysis) center, kidney pathology room and gout outpatient. It has 4 physicians with senior professional titles, 12 medical masters, and more than 40 nurse specialists.

1. Primary glomerular and tubulointerstitial diseases: Nephrotic syndrome, acute nephritic syndrome, rapidly progressive nephritic syndrome, chronic nephritic syndrome, IgA nephropathy, interstitial nephritis, pyelonephritis (urinary tract infection), tubular acidosis, etc.

2. Secondary kidney diseases: Renal impairment caused by ischemic cardiovascular diseases, rheumatic immune diseases, metabolic diseases, infections, drugs, and tumors, including hypertensive kidney damage, lupus nephritis, purpura nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, gouty nephropathy, amyloid nephropathy, hemolytic uremic syndrome, HBV-GN, contrast nephropathy, multiple myeloma 

3. Integrated treatment of acute kidney injury and end-stage nephropathy (uremia), including non-dialysis and dialysis treatments;

4. Rheumatic diseases: Systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, Sjogren's syndrome, systemic vasculitis, scleroderma, polymyalgia rheumatica, mixed connective tissue disease, etc.;

5. Rescue of critically ill patients: Plasma exchange and immunoadsorption to treat severe lupus nephritis, hemolytic uremic syndrome, myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome; hemofiltration to prevent and treat contrast nephropathy; hemoperfusion to rescue drug and food poisoning; slow isolated ultrafiltration to treat refractory heart failure and diabetic nephrotic syndrome with refractory edema; continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) to treat severe acute kidney injury, severe end-stage nephropathy, sepsis, severe pancreatitis, and multiple organ failure.

6. The blood purification (dialysis) center is equipped with 35 sets of blood purification equipment, including Fresenius-CRRT machines and whole series of hemodialysis (hemofiltration) machines. The treatment effect has been widely praised by patients. It is among the best for hemodialysis quality control inspection at the provincial and municipal levels.
