The Department of Obstetrics of Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University adheres to the tenet of "Guaranteeing maternal and child health is our greatest wish" and is a comprehensive department integrating prenatal diagnosis, perinatal care, pain reduction, complete pain relief, accompanying delivery, and postpartum rehabilitation.

The discipline sets up two inpatient wards; the one on 6F includes a high-risk ward, a predelivery room, and a delivery room, and the one on 7F includes a mother-infant ward. In addition, it has 10 special wards and 1 warm delivery room, which can meet the needs of patients at different levels. The discipline has 61 medical staff, including 5 chief physicians, 4 associate chief physicians, 7 attending physicians, 1 postgraduate tutor, 1 associate senior nurse, and 12 competent nurses. It is equipped with 72 beds with an annual delivery of about 3,000 person-times.

The department has undertaken and excellently completed the diagnosis and treatment of high-risk pregnant and lying-in women and patients with difficult, complicated, acute, and severe diseases in Zhejiang Province and the surrounding areas of Hangzhou.

Academic status:

The discipline integrates teaching, scientific research, and nursing, and was designated as a baby-friendly hospital by the World Health Organization in 1997.
