Responsibilities:

There are 22 physicians in the discipline, including 7 professors and chief physicians, 5 associate chief physicians. Among them, 8 are doctors and masters. At present, neonatal, respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine, child health care, digestion and other specialties are opened. The diseases treated in the department involve neonatal diseases, pediatric respiratory system disease, digestive system disease, blood system disease, cardiovascular system disease, nervous system disease, endocrine diseases, child health care and other clinical fields. The department carries out standard diagnosis and treatment for common and frequently-occurring diseases in children at all stages, offers first aid for difficult and critical diseases, and provides advisory opinions on child preventive health care, child disease care, child psychology and nutrition. The department is equipped with NICUs, with strong strength in clinical diagnosis, treatment, scientific research and teaching. There are 220,000 outpatient and emergency visits, and nearly 4,000 discharged patients per year.

Academic status:

It is a key discipline of the hospital and a national standardized training base for pediatric Resident Physicians. The department has a standing member of Pediatric Branch of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, a member of Zhejiang Medical Association, a standing member and a member of Pediatric Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, a member of the Young Committee of Pediatric Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, a vice chairman of Pediatric Branch of Zhejiang Association of Integrative Medicine, 3 members of Pediatric Branch of Hangzhou Medical Association, a member of Hangzhou Perinatal Medical Branch, a deputy leader of Endocrinology Group and a member of each of Neonatology Group, Pediatric Cardiovascular Group, Neurology Group, Respiratory Group, Gastroenterology Group and Endocrinology Group of Pediatric Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, and 3 members of Zhejiang Science Popularization Expert Group.

In the past 5 years, it has presided over and participated in one program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, presided over and completed four programs of the Health Commission of Zhejiang Province, and more than 10 programs of Hangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Committee and Hangzhou Municipal Health Commission. Since 2009, it has set up national and provincial continuing education courses. It holds large-scale health education activities twice a year.
